Here is the thing, “they” aren’t stupid. “They” know exactly what they are doing, and they’ve damn near perfected the system to accomplish their goals.
“They” would be what we euphemistically call “The Deep State”, which is just career Washington, DC insiders who are in the CIA, NSA, FBI, and Justice Department, who have a political leaning and ideas on America’s future, and truly believe in their heart-of-hearts they know what is best for our future, and believe they are doing “God’s work” to ensure the survival of our nation.
Of course as government has evolved these individuals tend to be Liberal, and Democrat, they invest an emotion into their positions and really do think they are acting in our mutual best interest. Washington, DC votes 95% Democrat, it is a very good bet that pretty much everyone in positions of power at these agencies is either a Democrat, or leans Democrat in their policies.
The truly ambitious simply do not apply for a government job, the pay grades are rather set, the daily grind can be monotonous, and you can toil in anonymity in a DC cubicle or shabby office for years, and years. The men and women who seek out government service feel as if their “service” is a calling, they want to “do good”, and improve lives. The problem that creates for all of us is that they also tend to be either messianic, or very committed to a cause or calling, which is how and why they chose their career path. “Tree huggers” can’t wait to get into the EPA, or Department of the Interior, and stop all those nasty developers from spoiling the land.
I am absolutely certain that were we to interview the head of the CIA, and put their feet to the fire, to a person they’d claim that they’d seen a horror, a threat so big, a danger so great, that it became necessary to do everything in their power to prevent harm from coming to the United States of America, and that were we to find ourselves in their shoes, we would have acted in the exact same manner.
Apparently the problem became that actually applying for government funds and listing the criminality required to prevent chaos and destruction from outside forces causes a two-fold problem.
First it exposes the dangers we face to a populace incapable of understanding the threats. And second, you just can’t list torture, killing, kidnapping, abetting underage sex, and the other things required to keep “America safe” as a line item on the funds request.
As with “Iran Contra” you have to find alternative means of financing the more nefarious operations that are “absolutely required” to protect “America’s freedoms”, since Congress is going to frown on seeing the lengths and depths we need to go to, so that our “enemies” are kept at bay.
One way to create funds “off book” is to create NGO’s that have a stated purpose, and a real purpose, that is the stated purpose is some lie about feeding children in some foreign nation, or helping build water filtration plants in a developing nation, but you move the flow of money through the NGO so that ten-to-twenty percent of the funds actually go toward those efforts, while the bulk of the money approved through USAID, and on to the NGO actually goes to some arms dealer to fund whatever renegade operation the CIA is running in some foreign land.
And of course to keep everyone quiet in Washington, DC about the scam, you tithe a portion back into the campaign accounts of the very politicians who approved the USAID funding.
People are always seeking ways to fund “off-the-books” behavior, read any book on Hollywood from the 1970’s through today and cocaine flowed freely on every movie set. In the late 1970’s cocaine was so ubiquitous in Hollywood you can read about executives at the biggest movie studios in the country doing lines openly at meetings around the conference table. And all that cocaine was funded through the movie budgets. Now as we all know there can be no line item on any budget that says “cocaine purchasing” for the movie, but read the books, there were mountains of cocaine available to keep studio production rolling back then.
USAID, which Elon just went after as the easy pickings to reduce government spending, was Hollywood cocaine expenditures government style.
Now some of the operations funded “off book” by the CIA are worthwhile. And clever too. I hear a movie is coming out on one operation they ran, I read a good book on the operation, and you should too, “The Taking of K 129”, which tells the story of our CIA using The Hughes Corporation as a front. Saying that we had ships in the Pacific seeking minerals from the floor bed of the sea, when in fact a Soviet Nuclear Sub had crashed to the sea floor, and our CIA had designed a special large boat with crane salvage potential, and we managed to both bring up part of the Soviet Nuclear Sub, and keep the Soviets in the dark about exactly what we were doing.
You can’t line item a budget request to spend millions creating a one-of-a-kind ship that can bring up thousands of tons off the sea floor from extreme depths. Or the actual operation itself. Listing it and passing the approvals through Congress you’d never keep the operation a secret. So I realize you have to have a way to operate with subterfuge where the CIA is concerned, and the budgets they operate under.
But you and I might look askance at funding some Middle Eastern terrorist organization to take down an unfriendly government dictator there that simply will not do things the American way. Best to keep those operations completely quiet, and to fund them surreptitiously through USAID under “new water filtration operation, Congo”.
The problem is, once you allow a government department to go “off books”, there is room for abuse.
And I firmly believe that abuse has run rampant. Beyond our wildest dreams.
Somehow the politicians in DC took notice, and began to use USAID to enrich themselves dramatically at taxpayer expense. And the Oligarchy decided it might be best to use public funds rather than their own, and so applied for USAID grants that were given, and then flowed our own money toward partisan politics.
While we were all giving George Soros credit for spending hundreds of millions toward political causes in the US, turns out we were the fools. He was getting hundreds of millions in USAID dollars and was spending our own money on his own pet personal causes. Doesn’t that warm your heart.
And make no mistake, everyone at the top of the DC cess pool knows how the game works. The DNC uses “Act Blue” to funnel dollars to various campaigns, laundering big donations into small donations in the names of traditional Democratic voters who may have at one time actually contributed their own money. Only according to the “Act Blue” books, they’ve been repeating the donations. The voters just don’t know they’ve been making the donations.
Who knows how much you can believe that you read on the internet, but some on “X” are reporting that Brennan, Comey, Obama, and Company used USAID dollars in their soft coup attempt to unseat Donald J. Trump in his first term.
Personally, I’d like an answer as to how, and why, our FBI had “shared office space” with Perkins-Coie, the law firm associated with Hillary Clinton and her campaign for President. Perkins-Coie was involved in both creating and spreading the false dossier of opposition research that was used as the basis for removing Trump.
What would our FBI be doing sharing offices with the most partisan law firm that exists in DC, one working overtime to try to get Hillary Clinton elected?
Knowing that they shared office space with FBI agents at the same time they were working with Fusion GPS, and British Operative Steele to frame Donald J. Trump, makes one wonder if we have, or had, an impartial FBI during the 2016 election season.
I know I’d love to audit the Perkins-Coie books for 2014, 2015, and 2016 to see if any USAID dollars found their way into the firm. I just wonder.
Let me net it out for you all. By now we all know that “The Deep State” is working full-time to maintain the status quo in Washington, DC, that they do not want “outsiders” like Trump meddling and causing problems with all the cash flow, and that they have enjoyed years, and years of actually running things in DC no matter which administration came to power.
One of their “off-the-books” projects, “they” ran in conjunction with Jeffrey Epstein, didn’t stay as under-the-radar as they all would have liked, and found the light of day.
And now “The Deep State” has been forced to work overtime once again to hide the truth, prevent any information about the operation from reaching the general public, and to get the electorate to just move on. Thankfully for them, everyone has skeletons in the closet by the time they come to power in DC, and therefore they can use blackmail and other strong armed tactics to prevent those that might want to release all the information from actually releasing the information.
“They” hate when that happens.
Having to cover-up the cover-up.
It’s sloppy, smudges the image of the agencies, begins to call into question other operations, and causes problems in general. It’s all a bad plot from a movie, “Three Days of the Condor”, where a front has been exposed, a rogue agent has escaped, and the unseemly behavior of “The Agency” slips out into public view.
No worries. No real worries.
The American public is a cat with a shiny object on a stick. Move it, make the bell ring, shake it all back-and-forth, and the cat becomes distracted. Soon, very soon, it will be NFL football season, and those interested in Epstein will turn their attention to their favorite football squad.
Just as everyone forgot about the lies of “Weapons of Mass Destruction”, or the horrendous way we removed our troops from Afghanistan, or how they installed a meat puppet as President for four years, or how Obama spied on the Trump Campaign, or any of the other ridiculous scams of “The Deep State”, everyone will tire of questioning the Epstein Affair and just move on.
Maybe the movie of how our heroic CIA fooled all those stupid Rooskies as we were bringing their broken Nuclear Submarine from the depths of the Pacific, and what a huge operation they pulled off will come out and distract. Cause everyone to shout “America”!, and “USA, USA”, and be proud of our clandestine services once again.
And in “Top Gun” fashion we will forget all about Jeffrey Epstein, we will stop worrying that the Mossad is overly involved in our US affairs, and we will all see the movie glorifying the CIA and their off-book exploits and chant “USA, USA”, and some will cry “‘Merica, ‘Merica”, and national pride and pride in the alphabet agencies will soar. We will no longer question the CIA, we will embrace our captors.
I just wonder, what do you think the cocaine budget was on that movie?
