I would certainly not be the first one on Substack pointing back to the speech that Dwight Eisenhower gave as he was leaving office warning about the military industrial complex and the danger of the power and control it could wield over Washington, DC, and therefore over the American people.
Frankly, viewing this speech is chilling.
It is particularly chilling given that we now have the ability to view his speech through the lens of what transpired afterward.
Three short years later they blew the President’s brains out all over his wife’s designer pink suit. And when I say “they” it is generally acknowledged that the CIA played some roll in the murder of a sitting American President.
Roughly twelve years later they removed a sitting President in a “silent coup”, cooking up a break-in with ex-CIA agents, having ex-CIA like E. Howard Hunt placed deep inside the White House as direct Presidential counsel, feeding the “story” to Washington Post reporters through the FBI second-in-command Mark Felt to Bob Woodward, an ex-naval intelligence (read CIA) agent who somehow migrated from naval intelligence to the front pages of the Washington Post absent actual journalism experience.
Having just lived through “Russiagate”, and seeing the texts messages of a Peter Strozk, then knowing that the man placed in charge of the entire investigation was FBI in Mueller, one begins to question how in “Watergate” the main conduit of all information was the FBI second-in-command. Of course movies and pundits paint him as some “brave American” risking life and career to take down a duly elected President “mad man”, but I’d say the simpler explanation that he was working on behalf of the “Deep State” in a coordinated effort and CIA planned operation to remove a sitting President absent spilling blood all over Halston’s pillbox hat.
As an aside, dear reader, why is no one curious as to how an extreme partisan Democratic operative such as Andrew Weissmann becomes the main player in going after Trump for “Russiagate”? The man might as well work directly for the DNC given his pronouncements since Trump left office, it is unconscionable that a man so partisan should be involved in the investigation. Such a serious investigation. Oh well, that is for yet another column, how crooked and corrupt the entire “Russiagate” process was, and how at every single turn there was a far Leftist activist in position to take down a sitting President.
But is that another column?
Or is it indication that the take-down of a sitting President is by careful design. That such people are placed into position to inflict the greatest damage?
One need view “Weapons of Mass Destruction” to see exactly how the system operates. The CIA, in conjunction with the State Department, wishes to invade Iraq but must “sell” the idea to a very, very reluctant American population. Saddam may be some threat in the Middle East to Israel, but is of not threat whatsoever to the US.
So you cook up a story and feed it to that lackey reporter at the NYT Judith Miller. She swallows the story hook-line-and-sinker and pretty much acts as stenographer and not reporter in placing onto the front page of the most influential paper of record in the nation confirming that Saddam and his “Weapons of Mass Destruction” are indeed a threat to the US directly.
Suddenly talking heads on the nightly news question whether or not Saddam can send ballistic missiles to reach North America.
They backchannel confirmation through toadies at the Washington Post for the story written by Judith Miller thus giving it two-party authentication.
And American forces end up in Iraq destroying their entire country and chasing their powerful leader who has ballistic missiles capable of reaching US cities into a mud hole absent electricity and running water. Billions transfer from US coffers into the mighty military industrial complex. American soldiers die needlessly seeking these “weapons” that can never be found as they were all part of a CIA-State Department scheme to remove Saddam so that Israeli’s could sleep better at night, and US oil companies could rape profits from fields formerly off-limits to them.
Does Judith Miller feel bad about her role in getting our boys killed in the desert chasing fever dreams of the CIA? No, Judith is still out there plying the trade, a willing tool, a dupe, a patsy, a cog in the wheel of misinformation spread by our intelligence agencies.
I’d walk you through each and every Presidency from this speech to today but that is a book, not a column.
I find it curious that at every turn either we got a Deep State approved President, or, a Deep State plant as Vice President. Meant to steer and keep in check the winning candidate that was not necessarily “approved” by the Deep State.
Allow me some examples.
There is no chance the Deep State and military industrial complex wanted Kennedy in power. And Kennedy hated LBJ and perhaps with good reason. I mean is it coincidental that Kennedy was killed in LBJ’s own Texas?
Nixon had been a DC insider, he was Eisenhower’s VP, he was groomed by the Deep State to be the successor until Old Man Joe Kennedy rigged the election in Illinois and West Virginia to ensure his kid ascended to the Presidency. That is all well documented and you can view old tapes on Youtube where Nixon is filmed saying he felt the election had been stolen, by Democrats of course, but that he wasn’t going to contest things in those states “for the good of the country”.
But later Nixon began to go wayward, as if a potentate, he normalized relations with China, took us off the gold standard, and, and here is where it gets murky, tried to enact a policy of detente with Russia and that my friends is what I think got him removed.
Playing with China and Russia is the purvey of the Deep State and their State Department arm, not of Presidents and Congress. Nixon meddled as he wanted to be regarded in the future as a “Statesman”, a man who changed the world. He had to go and be gone with those lofty ambitions. Russia was, and always has to be the “enemy”, the boogie man used to keep the cash flowing to the military industrial complex, a never ending “Cold War” that feeds all those surrounding DC. The “Cold War” can never end. Ever. It is the cudgel used to beat the American people about the head and shoulders until the approve every increase in defense spending. Detente with Russia?
That…..cannot…..happen…….ever.
I am certain the Deep State was shocked when Reagan got elected. But hey, look at that, his VP is none other than the former head of the CIA Bush. That is a great way to put a leash on a President you didn’t favor for election.
It has to be clear by now that Carter was naval intelligence, read CIA.
Bush was a former head of the CIA and when he established a family dynasty who did they put in as his VP, the slimy, corrupt, Deep State ally Dick Cheney. To keep the bear of very little brain junior Bush in check.
I’d even argue that once the Clinton’s began to emerge on the National Stage that the Deep State made absolutely sure by ignoring and whitewashing “cattle gate”, then using Mossad operative Epstein got enough dirt on both Hillary and the skirt chasing Bill to completely control those 8 years in office. If it isn’t obvious by now that both Bill and Hillary are completely co-opted by the Deep State then you aren’t paying any attention at all. I’m sure the painting of Bill in a blue dress hanging on Epstein’s wall was just a joke amongst friends, and not a clear warning to toe-the-line, Bill.
And one should find it absolutely curious that the “community organizer” from Chicago, Hell bent on “Hope and Change”, a man with ACORN style values and pronouncements from podiums across the land, filled his cabinet with Goldman Sachs and Wall Streeters, and governed not as a man “of the people” but as a man wholly owned by big money interests. He bailed out the banks for Christ’s sake and left the people holding the bag. For an ACORN style radical, well, is GITMO closed as promised? Hello, Hello? He ran on a platform of closing down Guantanamo Bay and the torture chambers. What do you mean it is still in operation?
Something curious is afoot when a community organizer sitting in Jeremiah Wright’s church cheering “God damn America” and “Plymouth Rock landed on us”, ends up owning a Martha’s Vineyard home near Plymouth Rock, a home in Hawaii, a palatial home in the DC suburbs, and has deals on the table worth four hundred million.
Sounds to me like a man whose convictions were for sale to the powers-that-be. And who are those powers? Let us all put on our tin foil hats, tune into Alex Jones, and say it together….the Deep State!
Maybe somewhere back in time Obama acted on all those “Gay fantasies” and the CIA has film. That is certainly a plausible explanation for how a community organizing man-of-the-people from the streets of Chicago ends up sipping Chardonnay on Martha’s Vineyard with an all White cast of characters.
The problem in questioning anything with the Deep State is plausible deniability. Their plans, their Machiavellian ways, their subterfuge, makes you appear to be a tin foil hat wearing idiot. You appear insane, not their ridiculous schemes.
Except when you look at the blueprint. “Weapons of Mass Destruction”. And begin to apply the formula to other events, other changes in government, world policy, governmental activities.
Then things become much more clear. “Russiagate” begins to make sense as a covert op.
Why are CIA connections so woven into the fabric of our top elected leaders? I mean Bush came directly from the CIA, and existed within the realm of the Oval Office for 12 years. His kid got 8 more with the war mongering lover of all things military Dick Cheney in tow.
I ask you seriously, do the American people determine their leaders, do they elect a President, or are there people behind the scenes choreographing things to limit our choices so that candidate A wins, they win, candidate B wins, they win again!
Trump appears to expose that this is very, very true.
fifty former CIA officials are willing to obfuscate about a laptop they know is real to sway an election against Trump. The Secret Service appears to be willing to cover up cocaine in the White House so as not to damage a Democrat sitting President. While a Deep State operative in Vindman sitting in the West Wing can coordinate with Adam Schiff to attempt to impeach a sitting President over a phone call.
Nothing makes sense and everything always goes in one direction, for Democrats, against Trump.
I know one thing and I do hope you are with me. For the remainder of my years I will vote against any candidate with Deep State connections, no matter how threadbare the connections. I will vote for the outsider each and every time. I will analyze the Vivek candidacy thoroughly to see if there is any thread that can connect him with the Deep State. A history in the service, a job in the state department, some thin connection to the CIA or NSA, or even the FBI. Because if you do find a thread you can unravel it to expose full control of your newfound “favorite candidate”.
We were warned. Eisenhower the war hero, the ultimate insider, the last man you’d expect to turn on the military industrial complex. But what does that tell you? It says that a five star general and ex-President was aware of, and saw such horrors that he had to warn against them even in the face of his own complicit career in service to these same organizations. It takes quite a revelation to make a man who burnt his reputation into the history books as perhaps America’s greatest general, at least since Washington himself, to sit and face a camera warning the American people about those he was so deeply in bed with his entire career.
That is the lesson we need to learn from that speech.
That the horrors this man saw, and knew all too well, were so deeply dangerous to we the American people, and us as a nation, that even a man who built his entire reputation serving them, had to warn us all about them upon exit.
Sadly, I don’t think we’ve learned a fucking thing.
