No one, and I mean no one out there in the alternative to the mainstream media is doing better work than Jimmy Dore.
A comedian turned political satirist and activist, Dore has successfully married his passion for stand-up comedy, with his politics, to create both a Youtube show, and traveling comedy/political act, that speaks truth to power in a way no one else seems to have accomplished.
His Youtube show has become quite successful, and he has parlayed that into a traveling act including his comedian wife, and a few others, notably comedian and comedy writer Kurt Metzger, who tour and sell out shows across the country with an act that the audience understands in advance is going to be all about politics. Such is the hunger today for a very real look at the politicians of our age.
How fantastic it must be to be so passionate about your politics, and point-of-view, and be able to transform that into both a YouTube venture that is successful, but also to go on the road with the act and create big box office returns spreading “your truth”.
Now as an aside, I have to tell you, I disagree with much of his politics. Jimmy has spent a lifetime on the far Left, and supporting what I have always considered fringe candidates. He has, in his past, supported the likes of Cornell West, the radical Harvard professor, as well as Bernie Sanders at one time. Neither a candidate I would have supported after listening to their platform for even five minutes.
Jimmy is constantly moaning about healthcare costs and desperately wants the US to have some system of national healthcare, single-payer healthcare. A system closer to Great Britain or Canada than what exists now. So anyone promising universal health care, such as Bernie, draws in Jimmy Dore like a moth to a flame.
Jimmy’s original politics reminds me of watching old newsreels from big city political parties when there were more than two parties. News reels from the twenties and thirties. When big union backers would eagerly join a socialist party, or become card carrying communist party members in the 1920’s, or 1930’s, before the Cold War was used to shame those parties almost completely out of existence.
I’ve seen footage of men espousing the evils of big corporations grown too large during the industrial revolution and exploiting the worker, and who call out in tinny, scratchy voices of old films about being proud to be socialists, proud to be part of the workers’ party, and very proud to stand against the greed of the Industrial Age. Jimmy Dore would have been that guy had he lived then.
Here is a great example of Jimmy Dore just nailing it in calling out today’s Democratic Party
Over the past thirty plus years the Clintons were able to flip our parties to polar opposites. As if the magnetic pole of the earth has flipped from opposite sides.
As a young man coming of age in the 1960’s, and 1970’s there were two major parties and there was a clear delineation. The Democrats were for the working people, the hard hats, those that toiled at labor. The party of the unions, the party of the minorities, a true “people’s party”.
Back then the Republicans were the party of big business, the party of the Chamber of Commerce, the white collar workers, management. The self-made man who built up his small business into quite an enterprise, who may have begun as a Democrat from his big city hard working middle class family, quickly turned into a Republican as he hired more, and more workers who had demands, and saw more, and more government regulations in his industry from Democrats concerned with the local environment, the impact of his business on the infrastructure where he was physically located, and he found he needed to have license after government issued license to maintain his business.
This difference in the parties was iron-clad, stark. With the Vietnam War in full conflagration the Republicans flew the flag, and the hippies on the Democrat side burned it, further widening the party divide.
But Bill Clinton and his scheming wife came along in 1992 and got behind international trade in full force. They were instrumental in passing laws, and creating an atmosphere in which America had to be transformed from an industrialized country to a service economy. They courted donation and favor with big corporate America. They openly supported big business.
On social issues they stayed far Left. Abortion on demand, on women’s rights, breaking down the glass ceiling, standing firm on feminist values, and reaching the hand out with a hand out to minority communities so far as to be considered the “first black President”, Clinton managed to keep a great deal of the Democrat minority and hard hat base intact at the very same time they were undermining the American worker and climbing into bed with big business. It was quite a delicate balance to be seen as the both the friend of the common man, at the same time you appeared at New York and Los Angeles fund raisers with billionaires who just flowed millions into keeping the Clintons in power.
Even after leaving office, up until the Obama team rose up to take center stage from the Clintons, make no mistake about it, the Clintons were running the Democratic Party, and they made the Democratic Party the party of the Oligarchy. A party completely sold out to big business. Sold out to the tech companies, Hollywood, and Wall Street.
Today there are old school political actors who are so rooted in the old school pre-Clinton politics and have a lifelong hatred of all things Republican to the extent they cannot see the change, do not realize how they’ve “switched sides”.
It is clear as day to anyone with a thinking brain that the entire FBI, CIA, NSA, and all of “official Washington, DC” would do anything in their power to defeat the Republican candidate Donald J. Trump and keep him from ever getting back into the White House.
And yet an all-time liberal Far Leftist such as Rob Reiner, Bette Midler, or Barbra Streisand can’t seem to realize in their hatred of all things Trump, and support of all things Biden, they are now strong backers of the known “establishment” they always railed against, the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the permanent Washington, DC class, who were the same exact people who gave us the Vietnam War of their youth, and who they hated with the passion of a thousand suns.
They are so blind to the change that has actually occurred they use the handle “Resist” in their twitter handles, and posts. They urge “resistance” against Trump vociferously, at full volume, all while being on the side of the establishment.
In reality they are “resisting” the very real resistance, those in opposition to a bloated government grown out-of-control and feeding the Oligarchy with a reckless abandon.
To me, that is the message in this Jimmy Dore clip. The lost message, the idea that has been ignored by the mainstream media, and not necessarily discussed openly, or amplified to some national understanding of the dramatic change that has occurred.
The Democratic Party is now the Party of big business, the Oligarchy, and has the full support of the “Deep State” and official Washington, DC swamp.
The very same the Democrats wanted to overthrow in 1968.
It is Trump’s Party, the Republican Party who is now the outsider, absent real power, that holds no reign over any of our national institutions including academia, Hollywood, major cities, big business, banking, or media. It is the Republicans who have gone populist, who are the Party of the working class, who is fighting to maintain our middle class so that we do not become a South American country of just the very rich, and very poor.
The poles have shifted to their direct opposites.
But few have seemed to notice past Jimmy Dore.
The Democrats have been able to use their liberal social standing on the core issues of what is known as entitlements and social programs, to keep many lower class minorities, and “old Democrats” in the fold and voting blue despite actually voting against their own interests.
Who will suffer more than blacks in America as more, and more illegals cross the border and compete with them for entry level jobs? How are poor black families to rise up, and out of poverty when wages remain stagnant as illegals pour into our country in record numbers which will ensure that there is enough competition to keep wages depressed?
Of course they can pass laws in a California to raise the minimum wage, but as we’ve seen that leads to more automation, a smaller working staff, and less jobs, not more good paying jobs. Those laws just increase prices from businesses forced to hire at those wage levels, and the poor face higher prices from wage laws meant originally to help them.
Voting Dem doesn’t help either way, either they lose the entry level job to an illegal, or they get automated out of a job by the fast food industry, but still face higher prices on goods they struggle to afford.
Many are waking up to our new reality. The trend line of movement of minorities toward Trump is real.
The unions that buck this trend, mostly public unions such as the Teacher’s Union, have created a “circle of corruption” in conjunction with the Democrats that keeps those union workers from recognizing the sea change of Democrats moving toward support of the Oligarchy.
Across the country, but most visible in the big city of Chicago, the Democrat politicians vote for anything the Teachers Union wants in wages, pensions, and other perks, the Teachers Union showers those Democrats with sufficient donations to keep them in power, and the circle of support and money flows, and flows, and flows all the while taxes to support this grift make Chicagoans the highest taxed people in the nation. In reality the pension obligations promised to Teachers Unions and public employees will bankrupt all of Illinois, it is a pig-in-the-python coming down the pike. No one is going to have answers absent a Fed bail out. But that would only be guaranteed if the Dems are in power. The Republicans cannot be counted on to bail out Illinois. The pension bomb exists in every blue state, the Democrats have perfected the Teachers Union circle of graft and grift in every major city.
Private sector unions are waking up. With Democrats on the side of their masters they are beginning to see that the party that favors their populist positions are the Republicans. Those long-hated big business Republicans. Now their friend.
Democrats message to regular Americans today is two pronged.
“Orange Man Bad” is point one.
“They are taking away your reproductive rights” is point two.
It is all fear, all the time.
It is all fear of those Republican monsters coming in as fascists to seize control of all your God-given rights.
As Jimmy Dore points out in the video, they have nothing to offer, they offer no solutions to our problems, in fact they refuse to even acknowledge our problems. No Democrat will go on television and admit we are even facing high inflation. They refuse to admit the struggle of the middle class and lower class to afford groceries.
And they cannot extoll the benefits of what they are doing while in power, they’d have to claim that they just gave Ukraine over a hundred billion dollars, and Israel another twenty billion plus.
While doing nothing for their voter at home. And I mean nothing. Unless you consider their contributions in over-spending in bills that benefit the donors contributing to the inflation rate, or passing bloated and loaded bills targeted at donor rich industries such as solar panels and other new age industries to battle the boogie-man of “climate change”. Where we simply cannot measure in any way the very real impact of any of the spending. The donor class gets richer and richer, the middle class gets squeezed, and the lower class gets the same hand-out since 1964 that has yet to make a dent in poverty which, according to LBJ, was going to be wiped out completely by now.
Same poverty rate sixty years later, and homeless sprawled across every beautiful big blue city sixty years later. That civil rights act of 1964 just answered every prayer, didn’t it?
One thing is sure. The Democratic Party of 1964 that helped create and pass that act is no longer the Party of the people. The Clintons changed it all. So much so they were rewarded in the hundreds of millions to their, uh, charity, when she ran for President. Hundreds of millions, not in small donations from a grateful people, but in large “I’m buying some serious influence” donations from Oligarchs and nation states across the globe looking to cash in on being a “friend of Hillary”.
Today the Party that represents that 1964 Democrat constituency is the Republican Party of Donald J. Trump.
It may take a few more election cycles for it to dawn on the traditional Democrat voter what has happened. For some, like a Rob Reiner, they would never admit to becoming a full throated partner of the CIA, they simply cannot come to grips with that idea and admit to it. And the number of Rob Reiner’s out there are legion. People who vote blue no matter who and have all their lives.
But one day they will wake up and realize, the Clintons sold them out to the Dillers, the Brins, the Zuckerbergs, the Finks, the Katzenbergs, the Mark Cubans, Tim Cook, all loyal Democrats, all big contributors, all Oligarchs, and all rich beyond belief.
It is going to be a shock to the system when Mr. and Mrs. loyal hard hat Democrat wake up and realize they are on team Oligarch, and see who is voting with them.
Too many just don’t see how the Clintons sold them all out.
For cash money honey.
The Clinton Way.
Jimmy Dore gets it, thank God someone is trumpeting reality.

I went with a bunch of friends to see Jimmy Dore last year. He was so good! I have enjoyed his evolution, especially on vaccines. I agree that his stance on universal healthcare is a mistake. This is your best post yet, IMO. I'm going to share this with some diehard Democrat friends who don't get it.
The country doesn't have "a few more election cycles" to wait out the Democrats' across-the-board intentional destruction. Stand up and be counted in ways great and small. If not now, when?
